Personal Predators.

"We have doomed the wolf not for what it is, but for what we deliberately and mistakenly perceive it to be - the mythological epitome of a savage, ruthless killer - which is, in reality, no more than the reflected image of ourself."

Farley Mowat
This holds a lot of ground and explanation for many 'civilized' actions, in my mind. I wonder what would possibly drive a person to be so fearful of what's around us. Jaws, as classic as it is, did this quite well. 1975 = Blood thirsty saltwater beings sweeping the nations. A while ago, I was shown a picture of all happy families and the like at the beach, epitomizing a classic sunny day on the coast, completely unawares of too many sharks to count just out past where they were all swimming. This means easy lunching and full bellies for our cartilage composed friends, yet low and behold, nobody was eaten! :O. Now, in common sense, don't screw with a shark, but you get my point. Seemingly, people are horrified at thinking themselves evil. 'But we're smart, advanced! We have opposable thumbs!,' they say. Stop scapegoating all the predators that eat the goats and realize that yes, people can be evil. I don't care how smart you are, how advanced you are. Look at the Borg! Beguiling Data to charms of being advanced, yet super evil. So! In the end, we need to get over ourselves. Realize that the sharks and wolves, any of these 'scary predators', probably are as scared of us as we are of them. My best friend once tried to stab a bee with a swiss army knife because it got in the car. They're not killing us, we need to stop killing them.
